Come From Away
A small theatre company here called Las Vegas Little Theatre started a run of performances of Come From Away, the musical about a real story of how planes were grounded on 9/11 in the small Canadian town of Gander, Newfoundland. I feel with this production I was more impressed with the company performing it in general. Granted this was my first time seeing this musical, which I enjoyed quite a bit where like any good musical it hit a good range of emotions from it's lighthearted humor to its heartbreaking conclusion for some of the people returning to see their families living in NYC. What impressed me the most was the comedic timing of the actors portraying the players and the range in general. In this musical each of the actors play at least two characters. This works as a great way to show the actors' range but at the same time can hurt due to there being so many characters that it limits how much depth you can get into with pretty much all of them but it is a great testament to the musicals writing for how emotionally invested it gets you with this limitation for the characters you do go that deep with.
I would say no songs stood out to me but generally they were pretty enjoyable but nothing I can think of wanting to listen to again outside of the context of the musical. Nonetheless I would recommend this musical to any fan of musicals or just interested in seeing the historical account of the tragic event. More so I'm very interested in seeing the Las Vegas Little Theatre and how they do other performances. So if you're in Las Vegas Nevada sometime between now and July 26, 2026, I'd recommend checking this performance out.
