Diablo II Reign of the Warlock

It's hard to believe that Blizzard added more content to Diablo 2, 25 years after the expansion came out.  The Resurrected remake of the game was pretty much identical to the original version with just some quality of life improvements but to add a whole new class is amazing and completely unexpected.  And honestly I feel this is the perfect class to have added.  Most of the classes in the game were hybrids with only two dedicated caster classes, both infamous in the community for how overpowered they can be but also both very fun to play.  The Warlock is a very welcome caster that has skills that allow it to become somewhat of a hybrid itself.  Of course my first Warlock build is a summoner as the Necromancer has always been my favorite class as with other summoner builds and classes like the Witch Doctor in Diablo 3 and the Witch in Path of Exile 2.  For me, my first thought when watching the announcement and release of the Warlock was a thought of how amazing it will be to play a "Necromancer, with Demons."  Like for real what a perfect concept for this series and I can't wait to play the Warlock in Diablo 4 as well as Immortal.  When it was announced in December that the Lord of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4 will have a second class in addition to the Paladin, I figured I'd try it out but never thought it would be a class that I'm actually more excited to play than the Paladin.  Of course I made a Paladin for season 11 and had lots of fun with it.  Just like now I'm having a lot of fun playing the Warlock in Diablo 2.

When I started playing the Warlock and doing the Den of Evil quest, I couldn't help but remember the feeling I felt when I first played the game back in middle school where I played my first Necromancer.  I was so terrible at making my build for the game but had a ton of fun exploring the different skills but now I know the better way to do that, in the form of looking out for daggers, which have been converted into being the caster weapon for the Warlock, similar to that of the caster weapons like the wands, staves and scepters that offer skills boosts for the Necromancer, Socoress, and Paladin respectively.  But I now just look for daggers that add to skills I'd like to try so I don't have to use skill points and respec, of course back when I first played there wasn't even a respect option but doing what I'm doing now would have been a better option but can be costly and take time to try everything out.  I can already see wanting to make a build that focuses more on casting direct attacks with magic damage.  You're started off with a dagger that does the basic magic attack which is the magic equivalent to fireball but I got one that provides Misma Chain which is really awesome as it's like it allows the Warlock to be like one of the champions in later games that have the chain link amongst each other that damages anyone caught in the middle.

Another thing added that's been a phenomenal quality of life improvement is the new stash system.  I used to always collect gems, runes, and rejuvenation potions and spend so much time organizing them in the stash but now I can quickly and easily stash them and they stack.  It might not sound like much but for me it's awesome.  But all in all, this update was a great update and I look forward to making multiple Warlocks to explore the different builds and see what they add in the future to Diablo 2.  Not sure how I feel with the idea of Blizzard maybe adding Act 6 but I'm open to see what they do and go from there.  At the least I'll always be down to come back for playing different classes if they have more up their sleeves.
