Mulholland Drive
No movie has made me feel the wide range of emotions I’ve felt with this one with each subsequent viewing as Mulholland Drive. Also no movie has ever drive to watch it three times in a row. I like to feel my opinion on art is fairly balanced in the spectrum from mind numbing entertainment to unadulterated thought provoking art. And with that said I feel that this movie strikes an interesting balance right in the middle of that spectrum. Even though you have no clue what’s happening even on rewatch, the film is very compelling as each scene gives more questions than answers begging to be rewatched and maybe even studied.
From the abstract tie ins between seemingly unrelated scenes to dream logic vibe carried throughout the movie. This movie is a perfect escape from reality but upon further review it brings out the worst in reality especially in our current capitalist society. Of course that’s just my interpretation as like dreams it can have many different interpretations which in the end is the beauty of art
