Post Trauma
I played this game when it dropped earlier this year. It is an experience more curated for fans of the classic Survival Horror games like the classic Resident Evil and Silent Hill games from the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Post Trauma does a great job in delivering a great modernization of those games, leaning more towards being a more modern take on Silent Hill with its focus on psychological horror. The music is stellar and competes with Akira Yamaoka’s compositions from the Silent Hill games. The gameplay with its fixed camera angles and oppressive combat mechanics adds to the feeling of dread in its mechanics and gameplay. And the story keeps you hooked till the end.
I will say that it doesn’t offer much for thinking too much about after like how the older Silent Hill games did but for an inexpensive indie game, it certainly delivers well on the experience. It’s puzzle are really well crafter as well and feel like something out of Silent Hill as well. So with all this said, if you want that classic survival horror game feel, try this one out but if you prefer the more modern kind of horror games, this one may not be for you.
