Tron Legacy

Immediately like the music more as it changes the tone to more of how I remember the original from my childhood. I generally liked this one more than the first movie. It takes itself more seriously but definitely not too seriously. In the story it felt weird to me how it seemed like Dillinger was barely a footnote and wasn’t involved. But overall I did find the story more compelling.

The visuals were next level and still hold up well today in 2025. I love how Flynn just became more of the Dude as he got older which honestly makes sense for the character as he was already down that path in the first movie. This has made this film series more endearing for me as The Big Lebowski is my most favorite film so seeing Jeff Bridges be the cyber nerdy dude is pretty awesome.

In spite of this movie being better than the first I would still not say it’s necessarily a top tier film in terms of craft with story or acting to an extend but I would say it’s a great guilty pleasure that I recommend to anyone willing to suspend disbelief and turn their brain off to enjoy the ride in the digital landscape created.
